This pair of chairs were generally in good shape after sixty years of use.
All the fixed fabric was removed and the cushion pads removed from the old covers.
One very wobbly arm arm was repaired and the front legs firmed up.
New box cushions with hidden zips were made up.
Three pieces made up the front and side covers and these were sewn together before being fitted over some cotton wadding that softened the front frame.
The inner back was then replaced and eight buttons added following the original pattern.
Piping was added around the back frame before the main fabric was added. Back tack strip kept the top edge straight, the sides were slip stitched to both the piping and front fabric and the bottom edge folded and tacked over the inner back fabric.
With the cushions put in place the chairs were returned to their owner.
