These two large, attractively shaped chairs definitely needed new covers.

Although musty from storage the chairs were dry and the frames seemed sound. One leg was broken but the castor had been saved.
The old covers were removed. The stuffings to the seat fronts and arm fronts were not secure and fell off.

The broken leg was repaired, that castor and one other were fixed back in place and a loose front leg secured. A shaping piece was also made sound.

The damaged areas of the polish work were stained and polished to match existing.

The new fabric was added over a layer of FR polyester wadding – inner arms, seat and seat front – with new stuffings, inner back, arm front, outer arms and outer back. An undercloth finished the chair off.
The chairs were swapped around and the second chair completed in the same way.
All done!
