Dimensions of this example were 40cm high, 105cm long, 50cm wide. Dimensions of bespoke coffee tables can be changed as required. The choice of fabric, legs and trim all make a big difference to the finished item.
Construction for this style was a timber frame with ply base, using fluted legs that were stained and French polished. The top was a 10cm luxury foam pad wrapped in calico and covered with FR polyester wadding.
The corners were blanket stitched to emphasise the shaping.
The cover fabric was cut out, 15 buttons made and placed to test layout, double piping made up with two additional buttons for the trim.
The base of the stool was marked and drilled matching the button positioning plan.
The fabric was added with folded corners.
The buttons were added with strong nylon buttoning twine threaded through from the bottom to the planned position on the top and secured under the base.
Double piping was added around the base, the ends covered in a button.
Finally, an under cover was added to complete the coffee table.
