Edwardian Dining Chairs

This set of eight beautifully detailed Edwardian dining chairs with inlaid marquetry were to have new covers.

The seats looked good from above but it was a different story underneath and resetting the springing was necessary.

Cover added - fabric position set for all chairs

And as a set, the fabric needed to be placed so that all the chairs matched.

Dining Chairs

These four elegant dining chairs needed new covers – but finished up having new seats.

The curiously unused sides to the base frame remains a puzzle but the new covers were added to make an elegant dining set.

Dining Chairs

Dining chairs are ‘simple’, as there is just one upholstered section. Fabric to top and bottom with stuffings between – same story as for stools.

These dining chairs were given new covers – spicing up the dining room! You can see the details following this link or clicking on either of the images.

A simple change with dramatic results!

Our website has several other examples where the seat is attached to the frame with fabric or screwed on or fitted in a frame or held with pegs – and many varieties of those. A ‘simple’ idea made complicated!
