Leather Office Chair

The original seat on arrival at the workshop.

This chair was all about ‘apparently’. This apparently ‘sturdily’ built office chair apparently had a ‘leather’ covered seat. The only thing certain though was the sagging seat needed replacement!

All the back slats were loose – they got fixed. Now the chair really was sturdy.

The seat was taken to pieces revealing what the ‘leather’ actually was.

The old seat completely removed.

The rebuilt seat was covered in real leather.

Leather Carver Chair

Seat on arrival

The majority of upholstery projects have a fabric cover. For this solidly built Carver Chair, a replacement leather cover over new padding was wanted.

Making a new pad for a dining chair insert, although it has quite a lot of steps, is one of the simpler tasks an upholsterer will be presented with – and so it proved.

The completed seat

Starting point was a sunken and unyielding seat. End result was a softly rounded pad, comfortable to sit on.
